“If you don’t make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness.” Health and fitness are some important factors of one’s life and one always looks forward to improve it in every way. Since the sports day was just around the corner, the Andrean PR Team organised The Andrean Fitness Week for our fellow Andreans and Non-Andreans. The week was full of exciting, enthralling and energetic events! Many students participated and joined in these events and they surely enjoyed! Take a glimpse at the events of the week.
Day 1: On 9th December 2019, a free health check-up was conducted by WIZITA from 10am to 4pm. Students came in large numbers, also the teachers, office staff joined in. A full health analysis was given, the experts gave suggestions about how one has to focus on building good health.
Day 2: “Yoga is not about self-improvement, it’s about self-acceptance.” On 10th December 2019, a Yoga session was held by Tarini Menezes from 11am to 12.30pm. Students could take a break from their busy schedules and have a peaceful time, meditating and introspecting within themselves. A short meditation session was followed by learning Yoga. For some students, yoga was a new experience. By the end of the session, everyone was happy and ready to practice yoga everyday in their lives.
Day 3: “Fitness will teach you: focus, consistency, happiness, discipline.” On 11th December 2019, a Cross Training was conducted by TFW Academy from 12pm to 1.30pm. And a lot of gym enthusiasts joined in! Also, students who were just beginners enjoyed this session. It taught the students how fitness and exercising is something we all need to practice in our day to day lives, in order to keep us fit and disciplined. The wonderful instructors by TFW Academy also taught us how workout can actually be fun.
Day 4: Zumba isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain. On 12th December 2019, a Zumba session was conducted by ZINTM, Tanya Powell from 10am to 11am. The session was full of enthusiasm and joy. Students danced their heart out and enjoyed every bit of the session. It was a great stress reliever for students, and they wished we have more of these zumba sessions in college.
Day 5: Dance is the joy of movement and the heart of life. On 12th December 2019, a dance session was held by the Terence Lewis Professional Dance Institute from 11.15am to 12.45pm. It was indeed a privilege for the students to be taught by an esteemed group of dancers. Many students attended in large numbers, enjoyed the session, and learned some amazing dance moves.
