In a time where our lives seem to be kept on a hold and uncertainty is the new normal, the students of St. Andrew’s College have found a way to keep things exciting. Our college is known for its excellence in all fields, be it academics, sports, year-round activities and last but not the least, fests.
Fest Mosaic, as the name suggests, is a cumulation of all the fests St. Andrew’s College is known for. A spectacular blend of dance, music, drama, sports, fashion, the literary arts and so much more. It has been three years since the introduction of Mosaic as an intercollegiate festival in Mumbai. With everything that has been going on due to the pandemic, we’ve had to sacrifice on a lot of things this year, however Mosaic was one thing we couldn’t let go off.
Tanvi Bailore, our Chairperson for Mosaic ’20-21, said that our college is a plethora of talents which deserves to be appreciated by everyone, and we couldn’t agree more. With so much enthusiasm and talent, why let it all go to waste?
This year’s theme, “Focus. Capture. Impress.” helps ensure a platform for all the talents and skills that remained hidden during the lockdown. A chance to have fun, leave a lasting impression and who knows, maybe even win some exciting prizes. The lists of events to choose from is plenty and as they say, variety is the spice of life.
In our opinion, it is a true challenge to take Mosaic online this year, but one, the team is ready to take on. A small crew of 23 young, creative and unstoppable individuals who are sure to overcome this challenge with flying colours. They are working hard to ensure an overall success for the fest this year. The team’s goal is to add new layers to social platforms with events such as Punch-Line Knockout, Left to Write, Contour Strike, Sa-Re-Gao and a lot more thrilling events just for you all. A quick mention of the event “Skills and Thrills”, if you think that you have a talent that doesn’t exactly fit in with the rest of the events, well this is the perfect one for you. It encourages participants to give it their all within the comforts of their own homes because who needs a stage when you can rock it at home itself.
One of Tanvi’s aims is to make this year’s Mosaic something that hits close to home, hence a special feature is added. Mosaic ’20- 21 has gone intra-collegiate and includes the alumni as well! With the graduates a part of this year, the team aims at creating a feeling of oneness among all the participants. An all-inclusive fest, which boosts internal participation and unites the college students under one umbrella, something we haven’t seen before.
Apart from all of this, Team Mosaic’s vision includes increasing Brand Awareness as Mosaic is still fresh off the boat when it comes to its competitors. It’s vital to showcase that Mosaic is a dynamic, interactive and a fest for all. Not just for the participants but also for the judges, sponsors and spectators. No matter who you are or where you come from, there’s always a place for you in Mosaic.
We are sure the team is preparing a wonderful plan that feels like nothing has changed but instead only gotten better. Something that we can all enjoy in the comforts of our own homes with radiant smiles shining on our faces. We hope that all of you are just as excited for Mosaic ’20 -21 as there’s only a few more days left until then.
